J.L. Martin joins USMB staff

USMB has contracted with J.L. Martin, Hesston, Kansas, to help promote USMB through social media and email marketing. Martin began work January 4.

As the part-time social media coordinator, Martin is responsible for enhancing and managing USMB’s social media presence on platforms such as Facebook and Twitter and helping develop additional marketing strategies to facilitate online community among USMB members.

Martin serves as the pastor of children and family at Hesston MB Church, a position he has held since 2008. He manages social media for the church’s page and also contributes to his blog, daddy4ms.blogspot.com

“One thing we want to provide more of for our local MB churches and pastors is connection, information and resourcing,” says Don Morris, USMB national director. “J.L. will help us as we seek to improve on those points. Although J.L. will be contracted and part-time, we consider him to be an integral member of our USMB staff team,” Morris says.

“I look forward to helping the USMB family stay connected with one another through social media,” says Martin. “One goal as social media coordinator is to provide quick and easy ways to know what other churches are doing and to share creative and fun ideas with one another. Also, I would like to keep churches informed about events going on in the conference.”
