The churches of the U.S. Mennonite Brethren Latin America District gathered Saturday, Feb. 21, at Grace Point Church in La Grulla, Texas, to praise God and enjoy fellowship together.

With the theme “Better Together” based on Romans 12:5, the district’s goal for the year is to facilitate ways for LAMB churches to support each other in God’s work.
A group of young adults from three LAMB churches led attendees in singing. The same group is part of a team that has been planning LAMB youth gatherings and leading praise and worship at those meetings.
“Their amazing talent and enthusiasm for praising God was a great blessing for the conference,” says Moises Tagle, LAMB District moderator, in an email after the event. “Their appropriate choice of songs helped to prepare the congregation for communion and to receive God’s Word.”
Aaron Box, USMB national director, spoke at the event, sharing a desire to see all USMB churches prosper and work together. Box highlighted the core commitments of USMB: to disciple others, develop leaders and deploy workers. He also emphasized discipleship as the duty of every Christian.
The LAMB District worship conference occurred two weeks after the business conference on Feb. 7.
During the business conference, Aaron Hernandez, LAMB district minister, stepped down from the vice-president position for the LAMB Governing Board. Jesse Hernandez, pastor of Templo Nueva Vida in Palmview, Texas, was elected to fill that position.
