In the article, “Worship that speaks” by Caitlin Friesen, she wrote “. . . musical preferences and expressions in our history make many of us wonder, how do worship leaders decide what to include.“ Maybe what is not the question, the question many ponder is how! How do we choose to worship.

The answer is not praise “leaders” singing with their eyes closed (I know of no salesman who promotes with his eyes closed), nor with boring repetition often for endless minutes, nor with nonsensical phrases and a near total disregard for poetical rhyme. She then made this observation, “. . . corporate praise is not performance nor audition, ” which ironically sums it up candidly, quickly and concisely.

There is a worldwide known religious organization that effectively promotes its atheistic philosophy through music, the Mormons with their world-renowned choir. Hymns of Faith, which they call religious “folk” music, are fans’ favorites. That organization is growing using our generational music, which we are foolishly abandoning. Therefore I reiterate, the question may not be “how” but rather “what.”
