Church ministers at local coin-operated laundry
by Myra Holmes
One small group at The Bridge Bible Church, Bakersfield, Calif., is using laundry as a way to bless their community. They call it “Laundry of Love.”
Once a month, the group goes to a coin-operated laundry in a lower income part of town and provides change and detergent for those who come to do their laundry. The volunteers also offer muffins and coffee, a small bag of groceries and a taste of Christ’s love. The idea came from JustOne, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and resourcing others to relieve poverty (www.Just4One.org.)
