MB Foundation has released its 2024 Annual Report, highlighting another year of kingdom impact in partnership with more than 2,000 clients across 39 states.

In 2024, MB Foundation facilitated over $11 million in donor distributions, supporting 518 charities—from local churches and mission organizations to education institutions and conference ministries.

“Our trust is in the Lord, who makes our leaves green and enables us to produce fruit as we labor together with him, says Jon C. Wiebe, president and CEO, referencing Jeremiah 17:7-8. “We’re honored to walk alongside believers whose faithful generosity is yielding fruit for Christ and his kingdom.”

“Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a reverbank with roots that reach deep into the water…. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8

The year marked the first cryptocurrency gift given through MB Foundation, demonstrating the creative ways donors are choosing to be generous with their resources.

Other highlights of 2024 include:

  • $370 million in assets under management—an 11.6 percent increase from 2023,
  • 10.50 percent return on the standard endowment strategy,
  • $136 million loan portfolio—the largest in MB Foundation history,
  • and 912 investors partnering to build the kingdom

“Our financial growth means greater ministry impact—more churches can expand, and more lives are being transformed through Christ,” Wiebe says.

In 2024, MB Foundation contributed a record-breaking Firstfruits gift of $309,101 to the U.S. Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches, pushing its total Firstfruits gifts to USMB beyond $2 million. Additional grants helped to benefit pastors and church ministry efforts, reinforcing MB Foundation’s commitment to faithfully steward the resources entrusted to them to support ministry within the Mennonite Brethren family.

New resources were launched in 2024, designed to teach children and millennials about stewardship. A Wise Steward is a 3-lesson curriculum for grades 1-5, based on concepts presented in the book Trusted by Matt Bell, a nationally-known stewardship author. A group study through Trusted is also available to help adults teach their kids how to manage money well and to discover natural teaching moments within the rhythms of everyday life.

The 2024 Annual Report features inspiring stories—such as how Richard and Lavone Sawatzky, farmers near Reedley, California, discovered a powerful tool for fruitful giving and how Christ Church Sellwood in Portland, Oregon, renovated their first worship center to expand their ministry.
