Enns will complete 34 years as district treasurer
PDC news story
Jim Enns, Pacific District Conference (PDC) treasurer and chief financial officer, is retiring following the October 2017 district convention, announced the PDC in early February.
At the time of his retirement, Enns will have completed an unprecedented 34 years as district treasurer. He was elected to the PDC Board of Trustees in 1981, served as assistant treasurer in 1982 and began his tenure as treasurer in 1983. He served the PDC part time from 1983-1994 while still fully employed as an auditor by the State of California. Since his retirement from state service in 1994, Enns has continued to serve the PDC in a half-time capacity.
“Like his father, Ernest Enns, who preceded him as district treasurer, Jim has served faithfully and tirelessly,” says Gary Wall, PDC minister. “Jim has been an important part of the PDC staff team and his retirement represents a great loss in terms of institutional memory, competent financial management, attention to detail and vital service to our churches. Jim has been a good friend and ministry partner to me personally, and he will be deeply missed,” says Wall.
According to Dale Boese, PDC Trustee chair, “Jim has been an indispensable servant to the PDC Trustees these past decades. His expertise in financial, property and legal matters has aided the ministry to our churches significantly. With gratitude to God for his good and faithful service, we wish Jim and his wife, Donna, God’s blessing in this next season of their lives.”
District leaders are exploring options for future staffing following Enns’ retirement, in order to meet the district’s financial and property management oversight needs.
