How can we pray for Cross Timbers Church?
A little over a year ago, we moved into a new worship space after renovating our gym into a new worship center. This has allowed us to continue to grow as we reach others with the truth of the Gospel. However, as we grow, we must maintain unity and prioritize discipleship. Please pray we do this well in the season ahead.
What is a distinctive of your congregation’s demographic?
In a middle-class Bible belt community, it’s easy to assume those around us already know about Jesus. We have found that to not truly be the case. We work hard to equip our people to speak boldly yet humbly to those in their life about the hope of Jesus. Sundays are a time we gather to be encouraged and equipped for this work of reaching out to our neighbors and friends for the sake of the Gospel.
Share something interesting or unique about the founding or history of your church.
Nearly 30 years ago, we had sold our past location and were needing a new place to call home. Through a series of divine events, God allowed the favor of a businessman and miracle after miracle to place us at our current corner location. We continually seek to honor God’s work in that season as we try to be a beacon of truth in the community he planted us in.
Has your church recently celebrated a milestone event? If so, what was that event? How did you celebrate?
We will be celebrating our 60-year anniversary and are currently planning a Celebration Sunday for our congregants this fall.
What are your goals for the future?
We see a need today for church communities to be places where people find genuine care and compassion integrated with clear Biblical truth. We want to work hard in the years ahead to never waver from this or compromise these important values.
