Tabor College, Hillsboro, Kansas, announces its first public lecture as part of its Graduate Studies in Ministry (GSM) initiative to be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22 at Hillsboro MB Church.
Josh Gelatt, lead pastor of North Oak Community Church in Hays, Kansas, will speak on “Christianity’s First Bible: Reclaiming the Formative Role of the Old Testament.” The public is invited to attend.
Gelatt will also serve as an adjunct professor for the GSM Initiative, teaching one of two courses during the 2025 fall semester. The courses will run in eight-week modules, with four set for the upcoming fall and spring semesters.
First announced in April, the GSM initiative was crafted by a partnership between Tabor College and the Central and Southern districts of Mennonite Brethren churches. A full master’s degree is pending Higher Learning Commission approval but is anticipated for the 2026-27 academic year.
