The 5th annual Young Anabaptists (YABs) Fellowship Week will be June 14-21, 2020.
During this week, youth and young adult groups from around the world can encourage each other and celebrate as one young adult Anabaptist community by sharing prayer requests and praise, as well as discussing Scripture.
This year’s theme is “Purpose: His and ours” based on 2 Timothy 1:6-14.
YABs Fellowship Week is one week instead of one day since many youth and young adult groups meet during the week, not exclusively on Sundays. A week provides more flexibility for the different contexts and schedules of young adult groups around the world.
The YABs Committee invites young Anabaptists to participate in a variety of ways, including: use of provided materials for youth/young adult groups; organizing a YABs Fellowship Week event (in person or online) with other youth/young adult groups; joining a private Facebook group or participating in a group chat on Slack; or by sharing testimonies, stories, worship songs or prayer requests.
Since the 2015 Global Youth Summit in Pennsylvania, the YABs Committee has organized an annual YABs Fellowship Week to intentionally connect with and fellowship cross-culturally with young Anabaptists ages 18-30 through Bible discussion, worship, prayer and the sharing of stories.
“Although we can’t be together physically, we can take the time and opportunity to worship together in spirit and in truth as we strive to live kingdom-focused lives in our respective cultures and countries,” writes the YABs Committee in an April 2020 release.
