Scott Holman of Fresno, California, is the new associate district minister for the U.S. Mennonite Brethren’s Pacific District and the new national resources lead for the USMB national office, beginning August 1.
In this dual role, Holman serves alongside Jordan Ringhofer, Pacific District minister, in pastoral and organizational leadership in the district. Additionally, Holman will work with the national office, supporting leadership development initiatives for pastors and ministry leaders, including coordinating the creation, refinement and translation of materials to more effectively resource the diverse Mennonite Brethren church family.
“I have been a part of the Mennonite Brethren Church my whole life, including serving in pastoral leadership for the last 28 years,” Holman says via email. “I am excited to serve in a new capacity both with the PDC and the larger USMB family.”
Ringhofer says via email that he is very excited to have Holman in this new shared role between the two entities.
“Scott brings a unique set of experience and wisdom at a significant moment for our MB family,” Ringhofer says. “Through this transformative grant from the Lilly Foundation, Scott will oversee several projects focused on developing resources to support pastors and churches, strengthen our MB identity and bolster our licensing and ordination processes.
“Scott is an answer to prayer, and we’re excited to see how God will use him in this next season.”
In December 2025, Fresno Pacific University received a $10 million grant from Lilly Endowment, Inc.. The investment, intended to strengthen the work of Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary to train and resource current and future church leaders, provided funding to assist in hiring the position.
Jesse Swiers, U.S. Board of Faith and Life chair, shares the excitement of welcoming Holman to the position.
“I am excited to see Scott Holman begin this new role,” Swiers says via email. “As part of his new role, he will be working alongside the USMB and U.S. BFL. In meeting Scott in person for the first time at Gathering, I sensed a calm spirit and a willingness to serve the broader MB family.”
Aaron Box, USMB national director, says Holman’s extensive experience with the Mennonite Brethren make him uniquely qualified for the role.
“Scott has been MB from birth,” Box says. “He’s been dedicated to our family as a pastor. He’s been serving in the PDC. I’m excited for the gifts and passion he brings to this position.”
Holman, a graduate of Fresno Pacific University and Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary, began serving as a youth pastor with Reedley (California) MB Church in 1998. He most recently served as lead pastor with Butler Church in Fresno, California, from 2006-2025.
For the past 20 years, Holman has worked extensively in multi-cultural contexts, seeking to unify the church and serve the community for the sake of the gospel.
Holman and his wife, Susan, have been married for 22 years and have two children, Niana (19) and Nathan (16).
